CUPRI Transmitter Specifications.

(Cornell University Portable Radar Interferometer)


The current CUPRI 50 MHz radar transmitter was built by John Brosnahan under the Tycho Wind Profiler logo. Its specifications are as follows:

Maximum Peak Power: 50 kW

Pulse Lengths: 2 us to 150 us

Duty Cycle: 2%

Pulse Length and Phase Control through low level RF input

Restart: Manual or via computer control (if AC breaker is on)

Status including power output, reflected power, SWR, high voltages, and trouble conditions readable by Harris computer.

AC Power: 240 V @ 30 A

Size: 19"W x 30"D x 36"H (approx.)

Weight: Very Heavy

Connections: RF in (BNC), TR control from CUPRI Timing Unit (BNC), High-power RF output to antenna (LC), TR ouput to one CUPRI Receiver (BNC), Directional coupler (Forward and Reverse BNCs), Computer link (RS232).
